THE NEW REQUIREMENTS OF SUSTAINABLE PLUMBING SOLUTIONS
In this course we discuss how transparency documents can help architects and building owners select products that have minimal impacts on the environment. As part of this discussion, we will examine tools such as Environmental Product Declarations, Health Product Declarations, and Declare Labels. We will discuss how these documents can support architects in achieving credits in building programs such as LEED. Over this hour we will dive into how to read each transparency document and find the data needed for green building credits, as well as review how that data is used and why it is important.
SCALD PROTECTION
Shockingly, thirty four percent of admissions to burn centers are due to scalds. Protecting restroom users from scalding is critical in commercial applications. Though thermostatic mixing valves (TMVs) are a common way to regulate water temperature, they can add unnecessary time and costs to your project. Historically, these valves were separate from the faucet, representing a separate component to be specified, installed and maintained. This course will explore how to prevent scalding with commercial faucets and what it means to be ASSE1070 certified.
ITS A GOOD DAY TO USE A BIDET (SEAT)
About 22 percent of bathroom designers saw requests for bidets in 2015. Although the demand has been increasing in the US for bidet seats, there is still a gap in perception and awareness of the technology and products. This course will explore the features and benefits of bidet seats, the user groups who benefit greatly from this product, common misconceptions regarding this technology, and how we can better educate influencers and consumers on using and promoting bidet seats and shower toilets.

THE SANITATION CRISIS
1 in 3 people lack improved sanitation. What does improved sanitation mean? In this course, you will understand what is meant by improved versus unimproved sanitation, the technologies surrounding areas of low improved sanitation are evolving, and India’s plan to improve sanitation by 2019. The course is broken up into four sections: The Sanitation Crisis, the History of Sanitation, Sanitation Technologies, and the Future of Sanitation.
